Financials & Transparency
Where we are, stated plainly. We'd rather tell you exactly what exists and what doesn't yet than imply more than is true.
The Elle Fisher Foundation Corp is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
EIN: 32-0847572. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
How a stay will be funded
Samsāra Sanctuary will not be free, and it will not be priced for the few. Each guest will pay a fee set relative to market rate and to what they can realistically afford.
A scholarship fund, supported by donations and grants, will cover guests who cannot pay. No one who meets the criteria for a stay will be turned away for lack of money.
Where your gift goes
Donations and grants to the Elle Fisher Foundation fund four things: the scholarship fund, the operation of the house, the infrastructure that supports it, and the eventual build of Samsāra Sanctuary in Phase Two.
Guest fees carry part of the cost of each stay. Philanthropy makes sure the cost never decides who gets to rest.
What we will make public
Once Phase One is operating, we will publish the number of nights of rest provided, the share of stays supported by scholarship, and what a night of rest costs to provide. You should be able to see exactly what your support holds.
Where we are right now
The Elle Fisher Foundation is a newly formed organization. Samsāra Sanctuary, its flagship initiative, is in a disciplined planning and pre-build fundraising phase — not yet operational, not yet housing guests.
A full business and financial plan governs this work internally: a phased capital campaign, a detailed development budget, and a five-year financial roadmap. As pieces of that plan clear board approval, professional validation, and campaign milestones, we'll bring them forward here.
The Foundation's board currently consists of two members: Rick Thomas and Emma Sokolewiez.
Because the organization is still early, some of what a more established nonprofit could publish here — audited financial statements, multi-year Form 990 filings, a fully built-out governance structure — does not exist yet. We are not going to imply otherwise.
Board
Governance in development
Financial and property oversight are being structured deliberately, not assembled after the fact.
As the board grows, two committees are planned to anchor that discipline:
-
Finance & Audit Committee
Budget, cash, restricted funds, and financial controls.
-
Property & Capital Committee
Site diligence, development budget, and procurement oversight.
What we are building toward
01
Annual Form 990 filings, once applicable
02
Audited or reviewed financial statements
03
An expanded board and governance structure
04
A capital campaign summary, once in public phase
05
A use-of-funds report, once funds are deployed
We are committing to publish these as they exist — not to promise a timeline we can't yet guarantee.
Advisory structure in development
Beyond the current board, the Foundation is developing an advisory structure to support responsible growth, care integrity, financial oversight, and long-term sustainability. Future advisory priorities include:
This advisory structure is intended to help the Foundation grow with discipline, accountability, and care as it moves from a two-member board toward a fuller governance model.
Transparency, to us, means telling you what's true right now
— including when what's true is "not yet."
Stay close to this.
For those who understand what is being built and want to be part of its early formation.
We will reach out directly as select opportunities to support and shape the foundation become available.
