Samsāra Sanctuary does not have outcomes yet. It has a model, a mission, and a scale of need large enough to justify both. This page is not a report on what has happened. It is an account of what we are building toward, and how we will know if it worked.
The scale of the need.
Behind each of those deaths is not one grieving person.
Research from suicide loss expert Dr. Julie Cerel estimates that each suicide death affects an average of 135 people closely enough to be considered exposed to the loss — family, friends, coworkers, classmates. [2]
That is not a rounding error in the old estimate of six. It is a different scale of problem entirely.
Most of those 135 people will never receive dedicated grief support.
Samsāra Sanctuary exists for them.
What we are building toward
A residential refuge with capacity for 12 guests at a time.
Twelve sponsored stays annually for survivors facing financial hardship — funded entirely by founding donors, not billed to the families who need them.
A model documented clearly enough that a second Samsāra Sanctuary, and a third, could be built from it — in different states, for different communities, without starting from zero each time.
How we will measure it
We will not ask donors to take impact on faith.
Once Samsāra Sanctuary is open, we will track and report:

Guest-reported experience measures, pending clinical advisor design — we will not publish outcome claims we cannot support
