The Elle Fisher Foundation is advancing a new standard of care for suicide loss, deep grief, and postvention. Samsāra Sanctuary is the flagship initiative — a residential sanctuary model designed for people navigating the gap most support never reaches.
This is not a wellness concept. It is a serious response to a gap in care, built by someone with the operational background to actually close it.
What founding support means
A founding gift does not fund a program that already exists. It funds the model itself — the planning, the governance, the first structure Samsāra Sanctuary is built on.
Founding donors are not one gift among many on a general ledger. They are the reason a model exists to evaluate at all. What they fund becomes the standard every later gift, grant, and partnership is measured against.
What this looks like in practice
Founding gifts can fund a stay for a survivor who could not otherwise access one. They can fund the governance and financial infrastructure a serious model requires before it can scale. They can fund the first year of operations before public fundraising has built momentum on its own.
None of this is symbolic. Each is a specific, buildable piece of the model becoming real.
Stewardship and governance
Serious donors ask about more than mission. They ask about structure.
The Elle Fisher Foundation Corp is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 32-0847572), governed by a two-member board: Rick Thomas and Emma Sokolewiez. Formal financial documentation and a fully built-out governance structure are still being developed — founding donors considering a gift at this stage are, by definition, funding an organization early enough that some of this infrastructure is still being built. That's part of what a founding gift means.
Who joins the founding donor circle
Family offices. Foundations. Corporate partners. Individual philanthropists aligned with a long-term, serious model of care — not a single-gift transaction, but an ongoing relationship with what gets built.
