ELLE FISHER FOUNDATION CORP.
Grants & Foundation Partnerships
A case built for foundations, family offices, and institutional funders evaluating a pre-launch organization.
The problem
In the United States, tens of thousands of people die by suicide each year. Research indicates each death closely affects dozens of people — family, friends, coworkers — far more than commonly assumed.
The gap
Most support for suicide loss survivors concentrates in the first days and weeks after a death. Long-term postvention care — support for the months and years after, when acute attention has faded but grief has not — is scarce, and rarely residential. This gap carries a compounding risk: left uncared for, suicide loss grief does not stay contained to one person or one generation. It can echo forward, particularly for children and young survivors who are often given clinical treatment on a schedule but rarely given the sustained rest and presence grief actually requires. Samsāra Sanctuary is designed to interrupt that pattern, not just to comfort survivors after the fact.
Proposed model
Samsāra Sanctuary, the flagship initiative of the Elle Fisher Foundation, is a residential refuge for suicide loss survivors. It is structured, not clinical — built around rest, nourishment, safety, and optional faith-led support — and designed to operate alongside licensed clinical partners, not in place of them.
Population served
Individuals and families navigating suicide loss, deep grief, and emotional exhaustion, including survivors facing financial hardship who could not otherwise access residential care.
Program design
See the Programs page for the model's core pillars. Specific operational details (capacity, length of stay, intake criteria) are still in development, pending clinical advisory input, and will be shared directly with funders considering a grant relationship.
Expected outcomes
We are not overstating what is currently measurable. Samsāra Sanctuary has no guests yet. What we can commit to is a transparent measurement framework once operational — see Impact page for our approach to accountability.
What funding is for
Grant funding at this stage supports the model's foundational build: governance infrastructure, program design refined with clinical input, and the operational groundwork required before a residential facility can open responsibly.
Concretely, this includes:
-
Property acquisition and development
-
Renovation and sanctuary design
-
Guest rooms and shared spaces
-
Meals and daily support infrastructure
-
Staffing and safety planning
-
Sponsored stays for survivors facing financial hardship
This is not a request to fund an existing program's expansion. It is a request to fund a new model's foundation — the stage where a grant has the most influence on what the model ultimately becomes.
What we can provide
-
A letter of intent or tailored proposal outlining the model and funding need
-
A direct conversation with the founder and, where relevant, clinical advisors involved in program design
-
Ongoing reporting once funded, at a cadence your foundation requires
Elle Fisher Foundation Corp is a Utah nonprofit corporation, recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) (EIN 32-0847572), effective March 10, 2026. The Foundation is led by founding director Elle Fisher, with Rick Thomas and Emma Sokolewiez currently serving on the board; the board is expected to grow as the organization does.
Formal financial documentation and expanded governance materials are still being developed. If a foundation requests them before they're ready, we'll be direct about timeline rather than send something incomplete.
Stay close to this.
For those who understand what is being built and want to be part of its early formation.
We will reach out directly as select opportunities to support and shape the foundation become available.
